About Griff Kull

Hello friend! . . . thanks for clicking through. My name is Griff Kull and I live on the Front Range of the beautiful Colorado Rockies. I credit the support of my family for the success I’ve experienced to this point in my life.  I was blessed to have grown up working in a family business.  My family has owned the Rams Book Store serving Colorado State University since 1977. My parents taught me the value of a strong work ethic and I began helping out in the family business at the early age of ten.

I was fortunate enough after high school to get away and study Finance at Arizona State University. This is where I developed a passion for following the price structure and price action of the stock market. I earned my degree in Finance in 1989 and returned to Fort Collins to work in the family business. Soon after I met my best friend and future bride, Anne.

Anne and I have been married since 1993.  We enjoy the Colorado lifestyle and our family time with our son and daughter.  We also have a couple of fun-loving dogs, Bailey and Champ.

I managed the family business through a decent cycle of growth in the 1990’s. The following decade presented new challenges and opportunities spurred on by the proliferation of the Internet. In an effort to discover the opportunities that were offered, I spent time studying and testing different Internet business strategies. This process is ongoing and has helped me understand the strategies that can help small business owners stay relevant in today’s economy.

This last decade has also brought on many challenges to the traditional buy and hold stock portfolio. I’ve been a life long student of the markets and have developed and traded different market timing strategies across multiple time frames. This has given me a solid understanding of how the market works and what strategies can deliver consistent long term growth to a portfolio. I’ve created a strategy that I consider a replacement for traditional “buy and hold” that I call the Retirement Shepherd investment strategy for long term equity growth.

In an effort to help others follow this strategy, I earned a securities license and financial advisor designation.  I currently execute my strategy as a representative under Patton Investment Advisors. (*see foot note)

I stay current with my disciplines by associating with the following professional groups: National Association of College Stores, Stansberry Investment Research Alliance, Mike Dillard’s Elevation Group (financial planning), Northern Colorado Traders and Northern Colorado Internet Marketers. I’m also an active member of the Foothills Rotary Club in Fort Collins.

Thanks for letting me introduce myself,
